Oil, 8 x 10" stretched canvas
$85 US (includes ground S & H within US)
Last Autumn on my drive south on Riverside Drive early one morning, I caught sight of a beautiful, thick field of Sumac and had to pull over to snap some photos. This little impressionist piece tries to capture the exuberance I felt when seeing such lovely vibrant colors that October morning. I used a heavy paint application with knife and brush and scraping off the toned canvas to suggest the coarse textures of the foreground foliage.

Love the colors.....can't have autumn in Oklahoma without Sumac. Also, I appreciated your discussion of your technique to get texture. I am one of your fans.
Well done. At first glance I thought this was a larger piece. The detail and brush work on a smaller surface is exemplary.
